The Ghost in the Big Brass Bed
Though The Ghost in the Big Brass Bed was a difficult book to write, when it was all done I was very happy with it. The thing is, you can never be sure if other people are going to like a story until it’s actually published and being read.
It might interest you to know that I actually lived on Westcott Street (now I have my office here), and Norma Bliss lived there as well. While I made up most of the story, a lot of the things that Norma says are real comments I have heard her make.
One strange thing happened while I was writing the book: about a week after I wrote the scene where the girls see the mural being painted on the side of the store called Seven Rays, I drove by Seven Rays and saw that they really were having a mural painted on the side of the building! It was not the same as the mural I described, but it was still a strange thing to have happen.
