About the Story:
I think There's Nothing Under the Bed is possibly the scariest short story I've ever written. I needed to do a lead story for Bruce Coville's Book of Nightmares and I got to thinking about how we're sometimes scared of what's under the bed, and how our parents always tell us “There's nothing under the bed!” and suddenly began to wonder what if that was literally true-what if, for some kid, there was nothing-nothing-under his bed. This is what happened.
