Full Cast Audio

Full Cast Audio is the company I founded to create unabridged, full cast recordings of great books for young readers. This is not just about my books—our authors include Sid Fleischman, Tamora Pierce, James Howe, Paula Danziger, Shannon Hale, and a host of authors. Come on over and take a listen to one of the many sample clips to see what we sound like!
The Unicorn Chronicles

The Unicorn Chronicles – My other web site dedicated to the Unicorn Chronicles series. Be sure to visit the discussion board and maybe even submit some fan art for us to post.
iPulp

iPulp I love the idea of iPulp. I cut my teeth as a reader on pulp fiction, the best of which has great storytelling energy. I'm all in favor of finding new ways to bring this kind of story to young readers.
Jane Yolen

Jane Yolen is not only one of my closest friends, we also wrote a book together Armageddon Summer. Jane's husband, David, is a computer wizard and this is a great website, filled with lots of information.
Tony DiTerlizzi

Tony DiTerlizzi is an astonishingly talented young illustrator whose work I just love. The first time I noticed it was when he did the illustrations for a book called Ribbiting Tales (stories about frogs—I'm in there) (Not as a frog, you sillies. I wrote one!) I knew at once that I wanted to work with Tony some day—and it's happened. He is doing new cover painting for new hardcover editions of all four of the Magic Shop books. They're going to be spectacular!
Tamora Pierce

Tamora Pierce is Americaís reigning queen of YA fantasy. She's also one of my best buddies. She comes to Syracuse a couple of times a year so that we can record her books for Full Cast Audio. Recently Tammy and I started reading our books-in-progress to each other. (She's heard every word of The Last Hunt! Well, every word that's been written so far…) Her website is run by her spouse-creature, Tim Liebe, and it's filled with Tammy info.
Tony Sansevero

Tony Sansevero is a good friend of mine and the illustrator for my Sixth Grade Alien series. He's also the creator of the infamous Bruce Coville action figure!
Paula Danziger

Paula Danziger was one of children's literature's most beloved writers. She was also one of my closest friends, and for years we read our books aloud to each other as we worked on them. Paula died unexpectedly, and much too young, in July of 2004. I miss her terribly. Fortunately, her wonderful books, including The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, Amber Brown Is Not a Crayon, and The United Tates of America live on to continue to enrich and delight us.
Philip Pullman

Philip Pullman is an amazing writer. I had the pleasure of working with Philip on the audiobook versions of The Golden Compass and the Subtle Knife published by Words Take Wing Audio.

My wonderful Writer's Group:

Every month I get together with a fabulous group of children's writers to gossip, talk shop, and eat. Oh, and we also read to each other and critique our manuscripts. Here are links to their websites:

Tedd Arnold

Tedd Arnold is a very funny guy and a wonderful talented author/illustrator. His books include No Jumping on the Bed and No Water in the Tub. Visit his website and meet his most famous character “Huggly”, the little green monster who lives under the bed. While you're there check out his photo of our Writer's Group.
M. J. Auch

M. J. Auch amazes me—she writes picture books filled with the most horrible poultry puns and adorned with illustrations she creates with her husband, Herm. And she writes very funny chapter books. And she writes deep and moving young adult novels, like Ashes of Roses.
Patience Brewster

Patience Brewster has a style all her own, a wonderful, delicate, fanciful way of bringing all sorts of things—including insects and vegetables—to life in a whole new way. She now spends most of her time on cards (for her own card publishing company!) and the fabulous line of Krinkles ornaments.
Cynthia DeFelice

Cynthia DeFelice is our official host, and her lakefront home is one of my favorite places to be. Sheís another one who writes with an amazing range—everything from picture books to such superb YA novels as Under the Same Sky to fabulous mysteries, like the Edgar-nominated The Missing Manatee.
Robin Pulver

Robin Pulver cracks me up. She has an incredible gift for picture books, and can turn ideas that I would have thought impossible to write into terrific stories, such as Punctuation Takes a Vacation. Her Axle Annie books are illustrated by our own Tedd Arnold. And check out her Author Day for Room 3t—itís a riot!
Ellen Stoll Walsh

Ellen Stoll Walsh doesnít like technology as much as the rest of us, so she doesnít have her own web page. But Tedd has put up some information about her books, including the fabulous Mouse Paint, which is considered an all time classic. Ellen manages to create entire books with fewer words than it takes some authors to clear their throats!
Vivian Vande Velde

Vivian Vande Velde – I sometimes think Vivian has an even weirder imagination than I do. One of my favorite things in group is when she comes in with a new short story, because she almost always manages to come up with a twist that leaves us gasping. She can be amazingly funny, and amazingly scary, usually on the same page!
