Welcome to the Guestbook!

I’m always eager to read your comments about my books and stories, so please feel free to pitch in. Here are a few things for you to know:

1) I answer the messages here personally.

2) No message shows up here until I actually answer it to prevent spam and other inappropriate postings. So there will sometimes be a delay before your message posts, especially if I am traveling.

3) Teachers, a gentle request: Please do not have multiple children send me variants of the same message. A group email is much easier to respond to and not such a drain on my time. My thanks in advance for being alert to this.

Hi Mr. Coville, I first want to say thank you for sharing your imagination with the world. Your books are magic. When I was young, I fell in love with your book Juilet Dove, Queen of Love (no pun intended) and the rest of your Magic Shop books. The Monster's Ring was actually assigned reading in an English class one year! I am now re-reading the Unicorn Chronicles. When I first read them, I thought there were only two, but an Amazon search told me there were four! I just finished the third and even though I'm 24, I loved it! Herein the problem lies. The 4th book costs at least $40! I know they are out of print, but do you have any suggestions on how to get it? My local library has it, but I would like it for my personal library. I would love to know if you have any suggestions. Thank you again for sharing your creativity with the world, and adding a little magic to the world 🙂

Hi, Ally -

Thanks for this lovely message, and my apologies for taking so long to answer. I was on the road for meetings all last week.

I am very sorry about the situation with the last book of the Unicorn Chronicles. For reasons I have never understood, Scholastic never released a paperback edition. I'm still sad and upset about that. There is, alas, no easy way to get a copy of it now . . . though there is an audiobook version that you can get (I recorded it myself, with a full cast, and I think its pretty terrific, even if I do say so myself!)

I do have the rights to the series back, and my agent and I are investigating how to get them back in print. I may just publish them myself. So they will be back, one way or another. I just can't say how quickly it will happen.

All best,

BC
