Welcome to the Guestbook!

I’m always eager to read your comments about my books and stories, so please feel free to pitch in. Here are a few things for you to know:

1) I answer the messages here personally.

2) No message shows up here until I actually answer it to prevent spam and other inappropriate postings. So there will sometimes be a delay before your message posts, especially if I am traveling.

3) Teachers, a gentle request: Please do not have multiple children send me variants of the same message. A group email is much easier to respond to and not such a drain on my time. My thanks in advance for being alert to this.

Hi Bruce. I feel honored you remember me. Hmm, I wonder how that person is selling a hardcover book if there isn't one. Sounds like a scam to me. Yes, that would be great, even a hardcover boxed set would be awesome. As for my email address, I don't actually eat snakes. The first three letters are my first, middle, and last innitials and the last part is from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater which is one of my favorite Metal Gear Solid titles. If you're not sure of the franchise it's a video game series which has been going on since 1998 but they had couple of earlier games sort of prequel games in the 1980's. I was born in 1984 but didn't start playing the NES until I was around 4 or 5. Anyway, sorry to ramble but I appreciate you letting me know about The Unicorn Chronicles. Have a great rest of the week. ~Amanda

Hi, Amanda -

Oh, all four of the books were published in hardcover. But there was never a uniform edition, with matching art for all four volumes. And even though Scholastic did commission new covers for books 1 and 2 when books 3 and 4 were finally written, they never released a paperback edition of the fourth book. So there is no way to get a matching set of all four titles. At least there is matching cover art for the four of them, by an artist that I loved. But here's how it goes with the final art/artist:

Book 1 - paperback only
Book 2 - paperback only
Book 3 - paperback and hardcover
Book 4 - hardcover only

Which drives my OCD self slightly crazy! ;>

Thanks for the explanation of your email address.

Bruce
