Hello! My name is Meghan and I am in grade 5. My class just finished reading your book Goblins In The Castle and I/we all loved it! I wanted to ask you a few questions and give you a few comments for your awesome book. When you were writing Goblins In The Castle did you ever think that it would be published? How did you create the characters of the book? Could you relate yourself to anyone in the book? Those are the only questions I have so I'm now going to give you the comments. My favourite character was Herky because he had a good sense of humor, was very energetic, and he was honest. I also want to thank you for being an AMAZING author with a lot of imagination! I am looking forward to read the sequel for Goblins. Also I just wanted to say I love your description! Once again thank you for being the writer that you are,

Glad you loved GOBLINS! When I was writing it, I did think it would be published. Or, to be more precise, I HOPED it would be published. I wrote the first version in 1977, but it was almost 15 years later that I took it out of the file where it was stored, revised it, and found the right publisher.
When I taught 4th grade, I told me kids that Igor lived in the cellars under my house, and was only allowed out on his birthday, Halloween. So it was easy for me to relate to Igor.
