Welcome to the Guestbook!

I’m always eager to read your comments about my books and stories, so please feel free to pitch in. Here are a few things for you to know:

1) I answer the messages here personally.

2) No message shows up here until I actually answer it to prevent spam and other inappropriate postings. So there will sometimes be a delay before your message posts, especially if I am traveling.

3) Teachers, a gentle request: Please do not have multiple children send me variants of the same message. A group email is much easier to respond to and not such a drain on my time. My thanks in advance for being alert to this.

Hello, Mr. Coville. You visited our school today (American International School Lagos) and talked to the fifth grade about yourself and your books. I am in Mrs. Baietto's class. I do believe that my friends and I presented you with a box of shortbread cookies. I hope you like them! My teacher has read us 2 books of yours: In Our Own Hands and Biscuits of Glory. I really enjoyed Biscuits of Glory. I have one question for you: How many schools have you visited in Africa?

Hi, Mihica -

Thanks for this message . . . and thanks for the shortbread cookies! I did share some of them with the librarians (because it would not be polite to stuff my face in front of them!) I can tell you that they were delicious. Also, a very clever gift. I really appreciated it.

I visited 5 schools while I was in Africa. I am home now, but I am still savoring my time on your continent. It was a wonderful trip!
